Privacy Policy

1. What this policy covers

Veil ("we", "us") operates a proxy resale service: we route customer traffic through residential, mobile, ISP and datacenter IP pools sourced from upstream network providers, and we bill for account access and bandwidth. This policy describes the data we collect from account holders and from traffic passing through our infrastructure, and how we handle each.

2. Account data

When you create an account, we collect and store:

  • Email address and username, used for login and account notifications.
  • A salted, hashed password — we never store passwords in plain text.
  • Billing and transaction history (deposits, charges, refunds) tied to your account balance.
  • API keys and connection configuration you create (whitelisted IPs, session settings, plan assignment).

3. Proxy traffic data

Traffic routed through your proxy endpoint is relayed to its destination and is not inspected, logged in full, or retained beyond what is required to operate the service. We do retain lightweight, aggregate usage metadata for billing and abuse prevention, specifically:

  • Bandwidth consumed per API key, per billing cycle (used to meter usage-based plans).
  • Destination-level connection metadata (timestamp, target host, target country/city, response status) retained for a limited window to support troubleshooting and abuse investigation.
  • We do not read, store, or resell the content of your requests or responses.

4. How we use data

We use the data above to:

  • Authenticate you and operate your account and dashboard.
  • Meter usage, apply your plan's pricing, and generate invoices/transactions.
  • Detect and prevent abuse of upstream proxy pools (which protects every customer's IP reputation).
  • Respond to support requests, including sales inquiries submitted before you have an account.

5. Third parties

We purchase underlying IP capacity from upstream proxy network providers. Those providers see traffic at the network level in order to route it, subject to their own operating terms; we do not share your account identity (email, billing details) with them. We use standard infrastructure vendors (hosting, database, email delivery) strictly to operate the service, under contracts that prohibit them from using your data for their own purposes.

6. Data retention

Account data is retained for the life of your account and for a reasonable period after closure to satisfy billing, tax and fraud-prevention obligations. Aggregate usage metadata is retained only as long as needed for billing reconciliation and abuse investigation, and is then deleted or fully anonymized.

7. Your rights

You can review and update your account details from the cabinet dashboard at any time. To request export or deletion of your account data, contact support from within the dashboard, or reach us through the "Contact sales" form on this site if you do not yet have an account.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated revision date above.
